Title & Identity
- Primary Title: Diwali: Victory of Good Over Evil
- Subtitle: The homecoming of Rama and the dispelling of darkness
- Category: School drawing competition (fine art & traditional themes)
Step-by-Step Creation Process
- Circle Layout & Proportion: Lightly sketch an outer circle on drawing paper using an HB pencil, placing a large clay diya in the lower-middle zone and outlining the teardrop flame rising toward the top.
- Foreground & Flame Drawing: Sketch Lord Rama holding his bow alongside Sita and Lakshmana within the flame, then add silhouettes of the townsfolk holding small diyas beneath them.
- Background Village Setup: Add the outskirts of Ayodhya around the flame, blocking in traditional village huts, doorways, hanging lanterns, and distant temple domes.
- Base Washes (Poster Colors): Apply deep Prussian blue and violet to the outer night sky, blending into warm yellow and burnt sienna for the village buildings.
- Flame Gradient: Blend bright lemon yellow at the core outward into vivid chrome yellow, fiery orange, and crimson along the flame edges to simulate radiant light.
- Pencil Detailing & Linework: Use colored pencils to sharpen the attire, facial contours, and floral garlands, then use a black fineliner to define the diya carvings and the decorative mandala border.
- Final Accents & Text: Add white gel-pen stars, rangoli highlights, and sparklers in the sky, concluding with the lettering “VICTORY OF GOOD OVER EVIL” across the bottom banner.
